Why can`t I find the food items I am looking for in the Food Composition Table?

Mainly, the food items in the Norwegian Food Composition Table are commonly consumed raw foods, food items, and some prepared dishes. New food items are continuously evaluated to be included in the table, but it may take some time to obtain nutrient data of a satisfying quality from analyses or to calculate values by recipe.

Analysing all the nutrient values in food items available in the Food Composition table is expensive. Food producers seldom are able to provide all the nutrient values required of food items included in the food composition database. Data from analyses and food samples should be of sufficient quality. In order to calculate nutrient values of food items, a representative recipe should be used, and data from all the ingredients needs to be available
